2017台北世大運30日完美落幕，談到這次佳評如潮的盛會，柯文哲受訪時再次把功勞歸功於所有的工作人員以及買票進場的觀眾，「要有那麼多民眾願意買票進場，這就不是我們可以做到的」；至於有沒有如釋重負的感覺？柯文哲說，其實有沒有世大運自己也是每天在工作，「最大的影響是提高整個台灣的民族自信心，特別是年輕人，我都沒想到我們什麼時候體育變這麼好。」

「其實還是感謝大家，這都不是我厲害。」柯文哲表示，除了很多人買票進場支持外，功勞最大的還是那些工作人員，「其實本來要念很長的感謝名單，後來我幕僚說這樣會念不完，所以就用蘇麗瓊當代表」；而除了蘇麗瓊，柯文哲還舉副秘書長薛春明當例子，「場館都他負責的，也是一路大家都不看好，可是他還是把它完成，所以要感謝很多人，那是大家都功勞。」

至於30日在致詞時特別感謝前市長郝龍斌成功申辦，引爆全場熱烈掌聲，柯文哲說，「人家至少有申辦的功勞」，而且我非常清楚，在未來5、6年內台灣沒有機會再辦大型運動賽事，只要大陸投反對票台灣就沒辦法。

「也沒什麼如釋重負，其實對我來講，上班時間都固定。」柯文哲表示，不論有沒有世大運，自己的行程也是排到滿，沒有說有世大運、沒世大運，「對我來講，一樣是每天在工作。」

但柯文哲特別提，世大運最大的影響是，「提高整個台灣的民族自信心，別是年輕人」；他直言，沒有想到台灣體育變這麼好，滑輪溜冰本來就是奪牌熱門，「但比預期的多很多，標槍、100公尺都會得獎，奇怪台灣什麼時候變這麼厲害。」
